Would you like your MIP users to be warned or prohibited from posting transactions that go over budgeted amounts? MIP has the capability to do just that.

Below is how you can set up this feature in either the classic or modern interface, if you’re on the MIP Cloud.

Classic Interface

This can be found under Organization à Set Up Modules à Budget à Primary Budget Controls

Classic Interface Budget Controls

  1. Confirm these segments match the segments used in your primary budget.
  2. Check this box to enable budget checking.
  3. Select an option to either warn or prevent users from posting transactions that are over budget.
  4. Select a method to have the system check against a Period to Date or Total Budget.
  5. Select the account types for the system to check.

Modern Interface

This can be found under Administration à Organization Settings à Budget à Primary Budget Details

  2. Check this box to enable budget checking.
